Tuna Killer started in a one-car garage in Rancho Cucamonga in 2011. Dr. Perry Brunette, Ph.D. (The Tuna Killer) was tired of buying production rods that couldn't hold up to a season of cow tuna trips out of San Diego. So he built one. Then he built one for a buddy. Then ten. Then a hundred.

Today we still wrap every rod by hand in our shop, but the obsession hasn't changed: build the rod we'd want in our hands when a 200-pound bluefin eats at sunset 80 miles from the harbor.

We fish what we sell. Every blank, guide, and thread color makes it onto our personal rods first. If it doesn't survive a season offshore, it doesn't make the catalog.
